Chennai-Mumbai Campus of the Indian Maritime University GATE/GRE scores are accepted by MERI for Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Naval Architecture. To be eligible, candidates must pass IMU's Common Entrance Test (CET) or have these scores. Aim for at least 160 out of 200 in the 3-hour CET to secure a good rank. IMU publishes the All India Rank without revealing individual marks.

There is no exact minimum cutoff for B.Tech at Indian Maritime University, Chennai-Mumbai Campus MERI in 2024. The cutoff for B.Tech Marine Engineering in Chennai in 2024 was General: 904, OBC: 188, SC: 7855, ST: 8944. The general category cutoff for MERI, Mumbai in 2022 was 711. Yes, according to reports, Indian Maritime University, Chennai-Mumbai Campus MERI has excellent placements, with 95% of students placed. According to reviews, a minimum salary package of 3 LPA and a maximum salary package of 6 LPA is recommended. Some even claim that everyone gets hired before finishing their BTech.

Admission to the Indian Maritime University, Chennai-Mumbai Campus MERI is based on both an entrance exam and merit. There is an entrance exam (IMU CET) for UG and PG courses such as B.Sc., B.Tech, DNS, M.Sc., and MBA. Merit-based admissions to the BBA, M.Sc., and MBA programs may occur based on available seats and aggregate grades.
