Yes, the syllabus for CMAT and HPU MAT is same. Candidates preparing for CMAT will require revision during the HPU MAT exam. As per HPU MAT exam pattern, the question paper is divided into following sections viz., General knowledge, English language skills, Reasoning and numerical skills and Business environment awareness. Similarly, CMAT question paper is divided into the following sections  viz., Quantitative Techniques & Data interpretation, Logical reasoning, Language comprehension, General awareness, Innovation and entrepreneurship. Both HPU MAT and CMAT does not have sectional time limit. The number of questions vary in both the exams however te difficulty level of both exams is moderate to easy.

MBA is a 2 year post graduation course. The two main entrance exam that aspirants have to give are CAT and CMAT. CAT exam is usually given to get into top MBA institute IIMs, since they only consider CAT examination as the qualifying exam. Whereas all the other private universities consider CMAT exam as qualifying criteria. In order to get into IIM one has to score a minimum of 90 to 99% whereas for other private Universities the cutoff maybe as low as 25%.

Aspirants have to fill an online application form for individual colleges in which they are interested. Application forms are available at each university 's website respectively. After this, counselling session is conducted for shortlisted candidates which results in the final admission.

Master of business administration (MBA) is a 2 year post graduation course. The two most important entrance exams to take admission for MBA in any university are CAT and CMAT. CAT exam is specification taken to get admission in IIMs only, where as CMAT exam is taken to get admission in MBA in any private University

The eligibility criteria for MBA includes Bachelor’s or Post-graduate Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate from a recognised University or an examination recognised as equivalent. The CAT cut off usually goes up to 90-99% in order to get admission in IIMs. For other universities, CMAT cut off goes as low as 25%>

Final admission depends on the counselling session conducted for the shortlisted candidates.
