Andhra University was established in 1926 and is a public (government) university. It was the first university in India to be approved as a residential, teaching-cum-affiliating university. Numerous undergraduate and graduate programmes in the domains of science, engineering, the arts, business, pharmacy, law, and education are available at Andhra University. Located at Kakinada (East Godavari District), etc.herla, Tadepalli Gudem, Vizianagram, and Vishakhapatnam, the university is affiliated with five colleges. In all, 305 colleges in Andhra Pradesh are connected to Andhra University. According to the NIRF Rankings 2023, Andhra University is placed 76th overall and 43rd among universities. Additionally, UGC has granted the university NAAC Grade "A" accreditation.
