BIMS, is a prestigious educational institution located in Bangalore. It is a private institute and was established in 2005. It has over 800 students pursuing full-time courses and is recognised by UGC and Government of Karnataka. BIMS is moderately competitive in terms of admissions and the difficulty of getting in can vary depending on the students programme and the qualifications. Such as BBA, BCom and BCA admission is based on merit, admission to MBA programme is based on marks scored in CAT, XAT, MAT, GMAT or CMAT followed by GD and PI conducted by the institute, PGDM admissions are based KMAT, Karnataka PGCET, MAT, CAT, CMAT etc.

SJIM offers admission to full-time MBA and PhD courses in the stream of Management. Admission to these courses is entirely entrance-based. For admission to MBA course, candidates must qualify for either CAT/ XAT/ MAT/ ATMA/ CMAT/ GMAT with a valid score. On the other hand, admission to PhD course is based on a valid score of either UGC-NET/ CSIR-NET/ DBT-JRF /ICMR-JRF/ ICAR Examinations /SLET (KSET)/ GATE entrance exams.
