If you are getting CSE in Thapar Institute Of Engineering and Technology, then go and grab the opportunity blindly, because if you loose this chance then it will ne really bad for you. TIET is much better than Chandigarh University. I'm not saying that CU is not good but if you compare both universities, then Thapar Institute will be far ahead than Chandigarh University. It depends upon your cv, while the course is very good, but if your college reputation is not good or your academic performance is poor then you should not expect a good placement.

What if my CAT percentile is between 80 and 90? CAT percentile between 80 to 90 can be a tricky situation. While you get optimistic to see yourself placed in the top range of CAT takers, the reality check of not being able to make it to the old IIMs also strikes soon. Your chances of getting into UBS is quite high. For general category their cut off goes to 80+ in CAT. Apart from CAT percentile, you must focus on GD and PI part, as this section carries nearly 50% weightage in overall selection process. All the best.
