The fee is INR 2.80 lakh. It is inclusive of the components of a one-time admission fee and tuition fee for all four semesters. Further, it must be noted that this fee is as per the past years' record and hence can vary for this admission session. The application fee for boys is INR 1,000 and INR 800 for girls (general/gen-EWS/OBC (NCL) category). For any query related to fee payment, candidates can reach out to the MDU admission office.

For admission to the MDU BTech course, candidates have to fill out the online application form. Aspirants must check the eligibility criteria before filling out the form. The admission is based on the JEE-Main entrance exam score and HSTES counselling session. Hence, candidates have to apply for JEE main and separately for MDU to take admission through HSTES counselling.

To be eligible for admission to a three-year LLB (Hons) course, an aspirant must have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with 45% aggregate. At the time of application form filling and admission, candidates also have to present mark sheets and certificates. In addition, fulfilment of the eligibility criteria does not confirm that a student will get a seat. To get admission to MBA course at MDU University students need to fulfill eligibility and selection criteria. Admission to this course is entrance based and as it is a PG degree course, students need to be graduated before applying for the course. Candidates need to pass an entrance exam conducted by MDU Rohtak. After qualifying the entrance exam, aspirants are called for group discussion and a personal interview round. Once the selection rounds are over, MDU releases a merit list to announce the names of the shortlisted candidates.

The University offers a two-year MSc course in 12 specialisations. The eligibility criteria and fees for each MSc specialisation vary. IIFT cut off for admission to 2024-2026 batch was declared in February 2024. The cut offs was released by the institute on its official website along with shortlist criteria and admission process details. Since, for admission to the batch of 2024-2026 will be based on CAT 2023, the cut offs are based on the same. For 2024-2026 batch:
Sectional cut off for General category is 55 and and composite cut off is 30%.
For Gen-EWS/OBC-NCL, the sectional cut off is 50 and the composite cut off is 25%.
For, SC/ST/PwD/Kashmiri Migrants, Kashmiri Pandits, the sectional cut off is 30 and composite cut off is 20 %.

IIFT conducts the Writing Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) round for IIFT admission in March and April. The WAT round is a 20-minute essay writing session in which a candidate is given a topic to write. The topic can be from any field like economics, society, philosophy, life, politics, international event, etc.
In 2021 and 2022, the WAT and GD rounds were not conducted and only the PI was conducted online due to COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, the institute had planned to conduct WAT-GD-PI face to face, but most of the candidates opted for online assessment, thus the PI was conducted through video call
