Hello Bhawana Raheja, let me out you at ease. There is a difference between cutoff and closing ranks or percentage. Cutoff means that below this value students are not allowed to apply. Like there is cutoff of 75% marks to be scored in 12th for students seeking admission in IIT's. This means that even if a student scores very well in JEE Advanced, but has scored less than cutoff in 12th then such student will not be allowed to even apply for admission in IIT. Yes, there are many universities which have entrance exam. You have to give entrance exam for joining into job Universities and colleges. There will be a particular cutoff for every Universities and you have to cross those particular cutoff for getting into the university or to move forward.
