XLRI Jamshedpur has strong reputation and placement record in the consulting domain. Top consulting firms actively recruiting McKinsey & Company, BCG, Bain & Company, Accenture, and Deloitte recruit from flagship programs such as PGDM in XLRI. The rigour of the curriculum along with industry exposure and its powerful alumni network contributes to this excellent success rate in placements in consulting. XLRI's placement procedure generally finds a substantial proportion of the graduating batch getting placed in consulting; some of the students were offered really handsome salary packages. However, these choice depends on candidates' priorities. Check out the below table comparing both of the institutions on these factors:

|---|---|---|---|---|
| NIT Jamshedpur | 101-150 (Engineering) | 3- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics | 112 | 4.0 |
| NIT Raipur | 70 (Engineering) | 3- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics | 60 | 3.8 |
Note: To determine the best NIT in terms of quality education and facilities, the overall Shiksha ratings have been considered as a key parameter.

It depends on various factors. Male students with a non-engineering background need to have a minimum of 93 percentile if they need to get admitted to PGDM HRM. Those who have an engineering background need to have at least 96 percentile to be eligible. Female students can expect the call as they need to have 90 percentile irrespective of their background.

Generally speaking, for a GATE score of 361, the chances for M.Tech in Structural Engineering at NIT Jamshedpur would depend on one's category admission and the cut-off marks for that specific year.
For a general category student the cut-off marks for Structural Engineering generally are quite high and range closer to 401 marks in the successive years. On the other hand, if you are belonging to any of OBC, SC or ST categories, then you may be able to make it, cut-offs are lower for these categories.
Of course, the admission is CCMT counseling based on GATE score, other aspects being availability of seats and competition using that
