Alpha College of Engineering admits students on the basis of merit or management quotas. The primary path for B.E./B.Tech programs is through Anna Universitys Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) which is based on Class 12 Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics scores. Eligible candidates must register for TNEA attend counseling, and acquire a seat.

Admission to postgraduate degrees such as M.E is based on GATE or TANCET scores, which are then followed by counseling.

Those applying through the management quota can approach the college directly, provided they meet the eligibility conditions of a minimum aggregate in Class 12 or graduation
