If you want to do M. Tech from government college then you must give the GATE exam. There is no other option to take admission in M. Tech without GATE in government colleges. Yes, private universities are there where you can take admission without any exam.

Hello Nishanth Poojary, there are plenty of colleges in Karnataka which accept KCET score to give admission. I am attaching a link that will give you complete list of such colleges. The list includes government as well as non government institutions which will give admission based on KCET.
