Yes, it is a tier 1 college. For Maharashtra state and Mumbai being the financial capital, there is no college other than IIT Bombay that's better. It is deemed as the central institute and all the civil road surveys conducted by the municipality and government go through VJTI. For the past 20, CET toppers have chosen this college. It lags in comparison to colleges across India because of lack of funding and mismanagement. I graduated from the college and other than the students, the teaching and infrastructure is sub par. Legacy and alumni keep the college name going.

Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) offers Diploma in Computer Engineering program. The course is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) . I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
