The expected minimum score required to be admitted to VJTI's M.Tech programs -
- GATE score: More than 600 points out of 1000
The GATE scores of the students are used to shortlist them first. A better chance of making the cutoff is ensured if one scores more than 600 out of 1000. It does, however, differ by department. - B.Tech percentage: When applying to M.Tech programs, VJTI also requires candidates to have a minimum of 75% aggregate score (or a CGPA of 7.5+) in their B.Tech or BE degrees.

For admission to its BTech programs, VJTI Mumbai accepts results from the following national/state entrance exams-
- The All-India Rank earned in the national JEE Main exam, which is held for Engineering college admissions, is also taken into account by JEE Main VJTI Mumbai. Applicants must meet the JEE Main cutoff.
- Maharashtra Common Entrance Test, or MHT CET
