The rank you mentioned is pretty good enough to take admission in CV Raman College of Engineering and mechanical engineering is quite a good branch. First of all, it's a core branch with many on campus training courses that will help you in future accompanied with well-equipped labs and center of excellence for practical concept clarification. There is no such reservation in NITs, but surely you will get home state quota benefits during jossa counselling of NITS. Please note that it is not valid for IITs.
