Here's the current B.Tech admission criteria at Thapar University (TIET) — straight and short:

How Seats Are Filled

Well as of for B pharm, it's a technical course which means ready to work just after completing your graduation degree, and in Punjab University Patiala, they give a 100 percent placement ranging between INR 2.5 to 5 lakh, and also not just relying on your graduation, you can do your preparation for Gpat examination, go and explore this.

Yes, you can directly register online for admission at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology through their official admission portal.

Here's how it generally works:

  • Visit the official website and go to the Admissions section.

  • Fill out the online application form.

  • Upload required documents.

  • Pay the application fee.

  • Appear for required entrance exam (like JEE Main / CAT / etc., depending on the course).

Admission is usually based on entrance exam scores + eligibility criteria, so registration alone doesn't guarantee admission.

For LM Thapar School of Management (under Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology*), the general eligibility for MBA is:

Minimum Academic Requirement:

  • 10th & 12th: No strict cutoff publicly specified, but a consistent academic record (usually 60%+) is preferred.

  • Graduation: Minimum 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).

Entrance Exams Accepted:

  • CAT / XAT / NMAT / CMAT / MAT / GMAT (valid score required)

There isn't a fixed “marks cutoff” for 10th or 12th, but better academics + good entrance score improves your chances.

Honestly, Thapar is a good private engineering college, but it does come at a cost.

For B.Tech, the total expense for 4 years (including tuition + hostel) usually goes around ₹28–35 lakhs, depending on your branch and accommodation. It's on the higher side compared to many colleges, so budgeting is important.

As for faculty, most professors are qualified (many with PhDs), and academics are taken seriously. Teaching quality is generally considered good, especially in core branches like CSE, ECE, and Mechanical. Like any big university, experiences can vary by department and individual professor.

If fees aren't a major constraint and yo

With 95.94 percentile in JEE Mains, you have a strong chance at Thapar University for most branches 👍

What you can expect:

  • CSE / CSE (AI/ML) / COE – Good chances (may depend on category & counselling round)

  • ECE / ENC / EEE – Very safe

  • ✅ Other branches – Almost confirmed

Thapar admissions are primarily based on JEE Main percentile (50% seats) and 12th board marks (50% seats).

👉 Make sure you:

  • Apply through the official Thapar admission portal

  • Participate in counselling rounds

  • Keep backup branch preferences ready

If you tell me your 12th percentage + category (if any), I can give a more accurate estimate.
