Between the two, Thapar University usually takes the edge for CSE.
It has stronger academics, labs, placements, and peer environment, while LPU is more flexible and easier to get into. If you want exposure and future opportunities, Thapar's the safer bet.

The RGNUL Patiala CLAT Cutoff 2026 was released for admission to the BA LLB (Hons) and LLM course for students that come under the All India quota. As per the Round 1 closing ranks for the General AI category, the cutoff rank fell in the range between 824 and 1059. The BA LLB (Hons) course had the cutoff of 1059, and all the LLM course specialisations, had the cutoff of 824.

The Punjabi University Patiala Cutoff 2025 is valid for admissions to various UG and PG programmes at this university. According to the Punjabi University Cutoff 2024, the cutoff in the last round ranged from 22 to 268 for the students belonging to the General HS category. Among all the courses offered to the General HS category students, B.A. B.Ed proved to be the toughest for admission with the closing cutoff score being 268 in the last round. Admissions at Thapar University are both merit and entrance based. The selection criteria varies depending on the programme chosen. Certain courses like BTech are entrance based with the university accepting JEE MAIN scores for the same while certain courses like MSc, MCA etc. are merit based. The university accepts Class 12 scores for merit based admissions.
