Although Desh Bhagat University accepts admissions for its BSc programme on entrance basis. However, the university also offers lateral entry to some of the BSc courses such as BSc in Fashion Technology. Students who fulfil the eligibility criteria can apply for the programme by visiting the official website of the university and filling out the application form online.

Those seeking admission in the BSc programme offered at Desh Bhagat University, must have cleared Class 12 or its equivalent in Science subjects from a recognised board with a minimum aggregate of 45%. The university conducts its own entrance exam called DSBET Entrance Test for admissions to its programmes including BSc course. Aside from this, those with a valid score in national/state level entrance exams such as CUET will also be considered for admissions to the BSc programme at DBU if the university deems it fit.

The highest package offered to the 2024 passing-out batch was INR 18.43 LPA. Earlier, the highest package offered in 2023 was INR 19.57 LPA. Looking at the past three years' statistics, declining trend was recorded in the Guru Nanak Dev University the highest package, which is depicted below:
