Yes, majority of the top colleges or institutes across India accept the candidature of the students belonging to the NIOS Board. However, the students must fulfil other eligibility criteria of the colleges they are planning to take admission. The Secondary/Senior Secondary certificates obtained from NIOS have the same recognition as certificates issued by other Boards. NIOS is vested with the authority to conduct Public Examinations at Class 10 and Class 12 level video government. Of India's resolution. Hence the 10th and the 12thCertificates of NIOS are equivalent to the Secondary and the Senior Secondary Certificate of other Boards.

Following are the subjects available at the senior secondary level course. They are Hindi English Bengali, Odia, Tamil, Urdu, Sanskrit, Gujarati, and Punjabi. It also include Persian, Arabic, Malayalam, Mathematics, Physics Chemistry Biology History, Geography, Political Science, Economics, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Psychology, Computer Science, Sociology, Painting, Environmental Science, Mass Communication, Data Entry Operations, Introduction to Law, Library and Information Science, Veda Adhyan, Sanskrit Vyakaran, Bharatiya Darshan, Sanskrit Sahitya, Physical Education and Yog, Military Studies, Military History and Early Childhood Care and Education. The NIOS offers 41 subjects including 12 languages for 12th grade. NIOS has divided the subjects for class 12 into six groups namely Group A, B, C, D, E and F. Group A consists language subjects while other groups include subjects from Science, Commerce, Humanities and others. Each student has to select a minimum 5 subjects in total while applying for NIOS admission. It is mandatory to choose one language subject from group A and other subjects can be chosen from any group.
