Kursk State Medical University and Lomonosov Moscow State University are both top universities in Russia. According to the top-ranking publisher, KSMU secured a rank of #196 in the University Ranking for 2022 and since then no further ranking of the university has been published. Lomonosov State Medical University secured a ranking of #78 in 2022 according to the top-ranking publishers. Hence, we can conclude based on the ranking that Lomonosov Moscow University holds a ranking higher than KSMU. The classes for MBBS at KSMU commences from the month of September every year. The students are given a time period of 3-4 months for getting enrollment in the university. The application form filling starts from the start of July till its deadline of Sep 15, 2025. However, international students are recommended to submit applications by Aug 15, 2025 to allow enough time for visa processing.

As per the NBE report on Institute wise performance in FMGE-2023, the FMGE passsing rate of MBBS students from Northern State Medical University is 18.77%. Of the 650 students who pursued MBBS from Northern State Medical University only 122 cleared the FMGE test in 2023. The FMGE passing rate is expected to increase from 2025 as most of the students who will give the exam from 2025 will be those who had qualified NEET exam because qualifying NEET was made compulsory for MBBS abroad in 2018.

English is language of instruction for MBBS in Northern State Medical University Russia for whole course. Language of instruction is one of major concern for international students including Indian students going to NSMU to pursue MBBS. Every year thousands of students from India go to Russia to study MBBS in Russian universities. Howerver, not all universities in Russia offer MBBS course in English language.
