Admissions to NEHU Shillong is offered on the basis of merit and valid scores of accepted entrance exams. Candidates must secure a minimum aggregate in Class 12 for admission to UG level courses. Whereas, for PG level courses, candidates must secure valid scores in accepted entrance exams such as JEE Main, CUET UG/PG, CAT/MAT/AIMA and other national-level examinations suitable for the chosen course.

To get a seat at NIT Meghalaya for BTech specialisations, candidate must attain the rank as per the category they belong to. NIT Meghalaya JEE Main cutoff 2025 was released for the first round. As per the cutoff for the General AI category candidates, the closing ranks in round 1 varied between 19623 and 44560. Looking at the cutoff ranks, it can be said that getting admission to NIT Meghalaya at 40000 rank is easy. Though the choice of specialisation would be limited at this rank. National Institute of Technology Nagaland and National Institute of Technology Meghalaya are the two prominent colleges for MSc admissions. Both colleges accept IIT JAM scores, followed by CCMN counselling for MSc admission. NIT Nagaland CCMN cutoff 2025 has been released for Round 1, wherein the closing rank for MSc in Physics was 1835 for the General AI quota. Similarly, for NIT Meghalaya, the cutoff rank stood at 1686.

For 2025 admission, the Round 1 closing ranks varied between 1384 and 1686 for the students belonging to the General AI quota. Of all the MSc specialisations, the one with the lowest cutoff rank of 1384 was the MSc in Mathematics. For other specialisations along with their GATE CCMN first-round closing ranks, check out the table provided below:
