NIT Sikkim does not have the ragging culture. The institute has an anti-ragging cell and ensures a safe, supportive environment. The ragging cell helps the students to encourage and report the issue. Students who encounter ragging should report it to designated authorities for a safe and secure environment.

Among all, the most competitive branches were B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering, followed by B.Tech. in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, with the last round cutoff ranks of 31754 and 42422, respectively. The opening and closing ranks for NIT Sikkim BTech 2025 vary according to categories, rounds, gender and specialisations. For the SC AI category BTech CSE 2025 opening rank was 3898, and the closing rank was 4088, according to JoSSA counselling 6th round. According to JoSSA last round for the All India category, the closing and opening ranks for this course were 5728 for female SC candidates. To avail admission to NIT Sikkim 2025, you would need to attain a score ranging between 360 to 432 if you belong to the General AI category. The M.Tech 2025 course specialisation, which was the most competitive for this category, was M.Tech in Communication and Signal Processing, with a cutoff of 432 in round 3, which was the last round for this specialisation. Therefore, a score above 360 would be needed for this year to get into NIT Sikkim.

NIT Sikkim CCMT cutoff score has been released for various M.Tech Specialisations. Your rank of 300 should get you admitted to NIT Sikkim if you belong to the OBC AI category for which the CCMT cutoff score varied between 332 to 377. However if you belong to the General AI Category, your chances for admission are low. For other categories cutoff range, refer to the table below. Please note that different categories, rounds and specialisations have different cutoff score.
