Yes, the University of Florida permits international students to work while studying in the university if they hold an F-1 or J-1 student visa. Candidates are permitted to work a maximum of 20 hours per week while classes are in session. Also, students must be mindful of the fact that they cannot work during times when they are scheduled to be in class.

Speaking as a Clevelander, I think you would probably have the most opportunity at either Cleveland State University or the University of Bridgeport. Cleveland University is bigger than Bridgeport but both are decent-sized cities. For a long time, CSU was known as a commuter school, but in recent years they've been building more campus housing as well as apartments that are adjacent to campus. CSU is also a short walk from the theater district and has good athletic facilities including a superb swimming pool. We have compared both the universities in the table below in terms of ranking and tuition fees:

According to student reviews who attended CSU, the blocks that contain CSU (Cleveland State University) are very safe during the day. The crowd changes at night. Cleveland State University has around 17,260 students, but only enough dorms for 1,200 and roughly 2,000 parking spaces. The rest come in using RTA (Regional Transit Authority).

While applying for the University of Florida admissions, all international candidates are required to submit the following documents:
- Official academic transcripts (English translation);
- Language proficiency score reports;
- SAT/ACT score reports (for UG) and GRE/GMAT score (for PG);

For UG programs, students need to pay USD 60 as application fees. For PG programs, international students are charged USD 70 as an application fee. All application fees are non-refundable, and once a recipient takes the offer and the semester commences, this payment is credited to the tuition fee deposit.International students can waive off their application fees as well.
