Portland State University accepts country-specific qualifications from Indian undergraduate students and they must be fulfilled by the applicants in order to secure an enrollment in PSU. Listed below are the Portland State University admission requirements for Indian students:

• Statement of purpose; and
• Work experience (if applicable).

Portland State University admission requirements for international students comprise of proof of proficiency in the English language as a major entry requirement. However, international students can get enrolled in PSU without English proficiency exam scores if they meet one of the criteria listed below:

• Transferable associate degree from a US institution with a minimum GPA of 2.50; OR
• International Baccalaureate Diploma with final combined score of 30 or more points; OR
• Completion of Portland State's Intensive English Language Program (IELP) with a 3.5 GPA in all courses and recommendation from the IELP.

If the students do not fulfill any of the lisitings above, they need to submit an official English language exam score.

To apply for a USA study visa, follow these steps:

1) Once you have a Form I-20 from your college, the visa application procedure can begin. Although you can pay the SEVIS fee at any moment during the application process, it is highly advised that you do so before you begin applying for a US visa.
2) You can fill out a DS-160 visa application after paying the SEVIS fee and receiving a receipt. An online application form is being used.
3) Print the confirmation page from your application to bring to the interview.
4) Pay the visa fee at authorised AXIS bank/Citi bank outlets or via NEFT.
5) Make an appointment for your biometrics and an interview.

6) You must physically show up for the biometric appointment so that your fingerprints can be scanned and your photo taken for the visa.
