Admission to NIT Allahabad accepts admission to the MCA course through the NIMCET entrance test. The exam is conducted every year specifically for admission to MCA courses at NITs. Candidates are shortlisted and seat allotment is carried out based on the aspirant's score in the entrance examination.

Direct admission is availabe under the 'Direct Admission' scheme. Under the scheme, students with 75% marks or equivalent, in aggregate in three subjects i.e. Mathematics, Physics and English in the class 12 exam.
