Admissions to HIMT is done on the basis of your class 12th marks. It does not conduct any competitive exam for the same. Thus, Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training, HIMT uses your class 12 percentage to determine your eligibility in their B Tech program. 60% in class 12th is the minimum cutoff required for admission to B Tech at HIMT. As per the criteria, candidates must have passed the Physics, Chemistry, and Math qualifying examinations in their 10+2 or equivalent from an accredited board.

Yes you can definitely get into HIMT College (Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training) with 70% in 12th class. The eligibility criteria to take admission into HIMT college is : the candidate needs to have minimum 60% aggregate marks in the class 12th examination (Accepting exams are TNEA, CBSE 12th, Tamilnadu 12th). Apart from that, you also need to appear in IMU-CET entrance exam . It is a CBT based entrance examination. Tentatively, the forms for IMU-CET 2024 will be out in April 2024.

Candidates who want to take admission in HIMT College (Hindustan Institute of Maritime Training) need to appear for the IMU-CET entrance exam which is conducted at the university level. There is no fixed cut off for IMU-CET exam. Only after the results of IMU-CET entrance exam are out and can be checked on the college website. But for taking admission in HIMT College, the candidate needs to clear psychometric test, medical xxamination which is followed by the Interview and pre-sea training. After clearing all these stages, the candidate can then take admission in HIMT college.

Yes, definitely VIT Chennai offers far better placements than HIMT college. Like in 2022, a total of 118 companies visited VIT campus whereas just  10companies visited HIMT campus. The highest package in VIT was INR 75 LPA whereas in HIMT the highest package was just 12.75 lpa. The median package in 2022 for VIT Chennai was 8 LPA whereas the median package for HIMT was just 4.5 lpa. Therefore placement wise VIT Chennai is a much better college than HIMT .
