Candidates have to appear for entrance examination and counselling wherever applicable. For NIET Diploma admission, candidates have to appear for JEECUP, and for B.Tech and B.Pharma, students have to appear for JEE Main and UPCET, respectively, followed by counselling.

NIT admission generally begins after the declaration of final phase JEE Main result. To participate in NIT admission for BTech, candidates will have to complete the JoSAA registration and choice filling process. Aspirants are advised to check NIT admission criteria beforehand to avoid any problems during admission.

Apart from UPSEE, NIET also conducts its own entrance exam for accepting admissions to various UG and PG courses. The Institute reserves 15% seats for management quota (direct admission) The application process is completely online

NIET Greater Noida placement cell conducts various activities for the students to perform well in the NIET recruitment process and get placed in top companies. The NIET has signed MoUs with companies like IBM, Salesforce, Vmware, Oracle, Capgemini and more which helps the students to do summer internships and gain practical knowledge. According to the information available from the official website of the college, around 300+ companies participated in NIET campus recruitment and offered the NIET's the highest salary package of Rs. 58 LPA. Moreover, about 2700+ of the students were placed in reputed companies in the year 2023-24.

The institute has released the 2023 placement statistics on its official website. According to the report, the highest package offered during BIMTECH placements 2023 stood at INR 23.43 LPA. The institute has not released the overall average package details of 2023. However, top 10% students offered average package stood at INR 15.86 LPA, top 25% students offered average package was INR 14.31 LPA and so on, while in 2022 the overall average package offered was INR 9.38 LPA. Top 50 students received an average package of INR 12.30 LPA, top 100 students received an average package of INR 11.65 LPA and top 200 students received a package of INR 10.60 LPA, respectively.

Shortlisted candidates must register online for UPCET counselling and select NIET as their preferred college. Seats will be allotted as per the choices filled and the scores of UPCET. Candidates have to submit the documents for verification and pay the fees once the seat is allotted.
