IIT BHU is a government institute. IIT BHU was founded in 1919 as Banaras Engineering Colleges, later on, it was established as IIT BHU in 2012. IIT BHU admits students on the basis of various national-level exams such as JEE Advanced, JEE Main, NATA, IIT JAM, etc. The institute has 15 departments and 3 schools through which it offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral-level courses in Engineering, Architecture, Science and Pharmacy streams.

Admission to all these courses is based on various national-level entrance exams such as JEE Advanced, JEE Main, NATA, IIT JAM, etc.

Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow offers Post-Graduate Programme in Management (PGPWE) and International Programme in Management (IPMX) for working executives. Admission to these programmes is completely entrance-based. Moreover, it is also necessary that the aspirants fulfil the course-specific minimum eligibility requirements. For selection, applicants must hold a minimum work experience of three years for PGPWE and five-years for IPMX.

For admission to MBA (or PGP) 2024 batch at IIM Lucknow, the CAT test will be conducted on November 26, 2023. Aspirants of IIM Lucknow are required to appear for the exam in Computer Based Testing mode at the allotted test centres. CAT exam 2023 will be held in three slots:

• Morning slot: 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM
• Afternoon slot: 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM
• Evening slot: 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM

Earlier, the CAT exam used to be of 180 minutes with 100 questions but in 2020, both exam duration and number of questions were reduced due to COVID-19 pandemic. Now, starting CAT 2022, the total number of questions stands at 66 as part of CAT pattern.
