The GBPUAT university is ranked at 88 position by the NIRF for the year 2024. This mentioned ranking is for the University Category. GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology is a fairly decent university offering various courses and specialisations. This university is famous in the state of Uttarakhand.

For the All India Quota only 15% of the existing seats are given at GBPUAT. The other 85% of the seat are reserved for the student with domicile of Uttarakhand state. This information may vary in case of certain specialisation as per the number of applicants and other relevant factors. There are about 60 seats available for the Agriculture Engineering specialisation at GBPUAT. The department of Agriculture Engineering is further divide into 4 courses. They include Farm Machinery and Power Egineering, Irrgation and Drainage Engineering, Post-Harvest Process Food and Engineering, Soil and Water Conservation Engineering.

There are several Multinational Companies that visit GBPUAT for their placement drive. Some of them are named as Accenture, Jaro Education, ICICI, etc. The four-year long undergraduate course in BTech has many prospects of career and employment.

GB Pant University is a decent university and provides the students with placement opportunities. The median package offered to BTech students according to the previous reports is about more than INR 4.5 LPA. The students can expect a pleasant salary package after pursuing the BTech course.

Eligibility Criteria

Regular BTech Course

Aggregate of atleast 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in class 12 with Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects with any one of Chemistry/ Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational subject/Computer Science/Information Technology / Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/Business Studies.

BTech Lateral Entry Course

Eligibility for BTech Lateral Entry Course is based on Diploma merit and Qualifying exam percentage.

BTech in Food Technology

Minimum aggregate of 50% (47.5 % for OBC, SC & ST) with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB)/Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology (PCMB) or equivalent examination.

BTech in Biotechnology

Minimum aggregate of 45% (40 % for OBC, SC & ST) with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics / Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB)/Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology (PCMB) or equivalent examination.

No, the students can not get direct admission in the BTech course in GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology. The admission is entrance-based. The students sit for the counselling held by Uttarakhand Technical University based on the score of JEE Main (Except BTech Food Tech and BTech Biotechnology).

For most B.Tech programs at Quantum School of Technology, Quantum University, you need a minimum of 50% marks in your 12th or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry/Biology/Bio-Technology/Computer Science & Mathematics as compulsory subjects. .
