For NIT Durgapur M.Tech admission, candidates must apply for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. GATE is an online national-level examination conducted for Master of Engineering (ME), Masters in Technology (MTech) and direct PhD admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs and other institutes/universities across India. To be eligible for NIT Durgapur MBA admission, students need to be graduated in any stream or in the final year of graduation with at least 60% aggregate. Apart from fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria, NIT Durgapur will also consider the scores of national-level entrance exams such as, CAT/ XAT/ CMAT to admit students to the MBA course.

To apply for NIT Durgapur MBA admission, candidates must visit the official website of the institute to register themselves. NIT Durgapur offers admission to the MBA course on the basis of a valid CAT/XAT/MAT/CMAT entrance test scores. Eligible candidates are called for the Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD & PI). Once the selection rounds are over, the institute releases a merit list of selected candidates. Such candidates are required to confirm their seat by paying the programme fee.

 To apply for an MSc course, the aspirant shall have a Bachelor's degree in Science with a relevant subject (mandatory) from a recognised university. For applied chemistry, a BSc degree in applied chemistry, BSc in Applied Mathematics, and applied physics for the MSc Applied Mathematics and MSc Applied Physics specialisations.

The university offers BTech under six specialisations. The offered specialisations are as namely Biotechnology, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical & Automation Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence.
