And computer Science placements at Chandigarh University are indeed reputed for the huge number of recruiters that come to campus. Hyderabad Institute of Technology and Management releases the TS EAMCET cutoff every year for admission to the BTech programme. The closing rank for BTech CSE stood at 16664 for the General (All India) category. The 2025 cutoff for BTech at HITM ranged between 16664 to 41807. Students with 20000 rank might not be able to get into HITM for BTech CSE or any other specialisation.

The CSE freshers salary in India differs on the basis of various factors like your academic history, skill set, internship experience at college (if any), job profile, recruiter, company location and market demand scenario. Fresher CSE jobs usually pay around INR 5 LPA to INR 7 LPA mid level job roles attract INR 8 LPA to INR 12 LPA and senior CSE professionals with years of experience can easily get above INR 12 LPA.

With an 8.5 Lacs JEE Mains rank, you may get into:
- NIT Sikkim, NIT Arunachal Pradesh, NIT Meghalaya (check cutoffs)
- Lovely Professional University, Uttaranchal University, and other private colleges.

With a 256/500 score, getting top colleges for CSE might be tough, but you can still get private universities or newer state colleges that accept CUET or other exams. Try options like Galgotias, LPU, or state counseling colleges depending on your category. Keep backup branches like IT or Data Science too—they have good scope.
