Revit is basically a BIM software, BIM stands for Building Information Modeling, it includes features for architectural design, MEP and structural engineering and construction.
3D Max software is used for many purposes like animation, movie effects and architectural visualization.
A. To work with Revit, you need some knowledge on construction planning and designing.
B. 3D Max does not require much of knowledge on construction.
C. In Revit, rough estimation of cost involved can be derived. We can have scheduling details.
D. 3D Max is only a design and not a documentation software.
E. Render output in Revit is not very good when compared to 3D max.
F. Building modeling is easy in Revit than compared to 3DS Max.
G. Revit files can be easily imported and edited in 3DSMax.
H. 3D Max files when imported to Revit can't be edited easily and slow down your system.
I. Can create plan, section and elevation in Revit which cannot be created in 3D Max.
