No, SRMIST Chennai BCA course admission is merit-based. Hence, there is no entrance examination for admissions. The institute admits candidates to the UG programme based on merit in the last qualifying examination, i.e., Class 12 or relevant Diploma. The aspirants must meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. Students who have passed Class 12 or Diploma in Engineering with a minimum of 50% aggregate are eligible for admission.

The application fee for all the courses of SRMIST is INR 1,200. Students have to pay this fee in order to submit their application form successfully. The fee payment is accepted online via credit card/debit card/net banking. Candidates are advised to keep the fee payment receipt safe till the admission process. It can be required for reference purposes.

Candidates applying based on their Class 12 scores must have Maths or Business Mathematics/Statistics/Allied Mathematics. However, those who wish to apply on their basis of their Diploma in Engineering don't need the same. Candidates must have passed the qualifying exam with the minimum aggregate, i.e., 50%.

The total fee for BCA is INR 1.9 lakh. The fee is calculated based on semester fee. Aspirants are required to pay the course fee after completion of all the selection rounds to confirm their seats. In case, a candidate is unable to pay the fee within the specified time, his or her admission will stand cancelled. Aspirants will also need to pay a registration fee to apply for admission.

Yes, the Kattanlkulathur campus of SRMIST offers BCA programme. It is a three-year UG course. For admission to the programme, aspirants should have passed Class 12 or equivalent with a minimum of 50% aggregate. In addition, aspirant should have studied either of the mandatory subjects - Mathematics/Business Mathematics/Statistics/Allied Mathematics. The seat allotment is carried out based on merit in the last qualifying examination.
