Candidates aspiring to pursue this course should be passed out from 10 + 2.
Aspirants can be from any field, but they should have English as one of the main subjects in their previous course.
The minimum marks in aggregate required to pursue this course are 45% to 55% from a recognized board.
Admissions are given based on merit, but the entrance examination provides admission in a few colleges or universities.
Candidates also have to attend personal interviews if required by the college.

Yes, an MCA from IGNOU is considered valid by companies and for government jobs. The UGC has approved the Indira Gandhi National Open University IGNOU as an open university. Candidates must have completed their 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks from a recognised Board in the Science stream having Physics Chemistry and Math/ Biology as their main subjects. One may be required to appear for any entrance exams conducted such as IISER, UPCATET GSAT etc. And may sit for GD/PI round.
