Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology (DCRUST) was founded by the Haryana State Legislature Act No. 29 of 2006 and is recognised under 12 (B) of the UGC Act, 1956. Came into existence in 2006, the University was formerly known as Chhotu Ram State College of Engineering, (1987-2006). The university was accredited by the NAAC with ‘A’ Grade and the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and is a member of various professional bodies such as the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), International Road Federation (IRF) and Indian Road Congress (IRC), among others.DCRUST offers UG, PG, and PhD courses.

Shri Balwant Institute of Technology, Sonepat is popularly known as SBIT. The institute was established in the year of 2006. It is a private institute affiliated with GGSIPU New Delhi. The popular courses offered by SBIT are B.E./B.Tech and MCA. SBIT offers AICTE-approved undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the disciplines of Engineering, Management, and Computer Application. In addition to this, SBIT Sonepat has a dedicated training and placement cell. The highest package is offered at INR 12 LPA and the average package is offered at INR 3.6 LPA.

DCRUST Sonepat and  SBIT (Shri Balwant Institute of Technology) are both private engineering colleges affiliated with GGSIPU New Delhi. 

DCRUST does not require CAT scores for admission, while SBIT does. DCRUST accepts online applications, while SBIT requires offline submission of forms.
 DCRUST offers a general MBA program, while SBIT offers MBA in Human Resource Management as a specialization.

DCRUST has rigorous classroom teaching, summer internships, and a research project as part of the course. SBIT has a similar curriculum but also includes industrial visits and guest lectures.
DCRUST charges INR 65000 per year for the MBA program, while SBIT charges INR 75000 per year. The hostel fees are not included in the course fees.
DCRUST has a decent placement record, with an average package of around 6 Lacs per annum. Some of the companies that recruit from DCRUST are Tech Mahindra, Idea, Fiserv, TCS, Mediatek, etc. SBIT also has a good placement record, with an average package of around 5 Lacs per annum.
