University of Science and Technology (also known as USTM) is a private university located in Shillong, Meghalaya. The University was established in 2011. To get into the BBA programme candidates have to eligible with a minimum 45% in any discipline as for the reserved category its 40%. Also for admissionto BBA programme candidates have to appear for the University’s entrance test followed by a personal interview (PI). University of Science and Technology admission is based on both merit scores and entrance exams, followed by a Personal Interview (PI) round. Accepted entrance exams include CAT, CUET, MAT, and XAT. The University offers a number of scholarships for postgraduate and Ph.D students. Most of these scholarships are merit based. However, support is also available to students belonging to economically weaker sections of the society through the Students Aid Fund. The office of the Dean, Students’ Welfare also processes various scholarships instituted by state governments for students belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes as well as those instituted by Private Trusts and Foundations. USTM offers BSc in seven specialisation Chemistry, Physics, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Food Science & Technology, Botany and Zoology. As per the University admission procedure admission to all the UG and PG courses are Merit basis. Candidates seeking to get admisison in BSc don't have to write an entrance exam butr they are required to fulfill the eligibilty criteria i.e. class 12 with minimum 45%.
The department of Business Administration, USTM offers two years full time MBA (approved by AICTE) programme. Admission to MBA programme done on basis of entrnace exams followed by a Personal Interview (PI) & Group Discussion (GD) at the university campus. The entrance exam for MBA is optional like candiates can appear for CAT/MAT/XMAT or they can write the university based entrance exam USTM-CAT. Candidates having valid scorecards of CAT/MAT/XMAT etc. will be exempted from USTM-CAT and such candidates may directly appear for PI & GD. The final merit list for admission in MBA will be prepared considering the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination, score of USTM-CAT/MAT/CAT/XMAT and marks obtained in PI & GD.
