A applicant must have permanent registration with the State Dental Council and a recognised BDS degree or equivalent qualification from the Dental Council of India in order to be admitted to the MS programme. Admission will be place through the National Board of Examinations' NBE NEET MS. It is a single admission test for several Post Graduate MS Courses that determines eligibility and ranking.

In general, dentists are not eligible for a postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in dermatology. This is because dermatology is a medical specialty that requires the practitioner to have completed a medical degree MBBS and a postgraduate degree in dermatology (MD/DNB) to practice as a dermatologist.
