SRIHER Chennai Highlights 2025
SRIHER formerly Sri Ramachandra University and Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, is a private institute in Porur, Chennai.The institute was established by Sri Ramachandra Educational and Health Trust in 1985 recognised by UGC and is also a member of AIU. It is accredited by NABH and with an ‘A++’ grade from the NAAC.
In 1994, it was declared Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute (Deemed University) by the Government of India. SRIHER Chennai houses a hospital or medical centre, Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre. The hospital was accredited by the Joint Commission International or JCI in 2018. To be eligible for SRIHER BPharm 2025, candidates must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognised baord with subjects like English, Physics, Chemistry, and either Biology or Mathematics. SRIHER Chennai Infrastructure
The SRIHER Chennai campus spreads across 150 acres of land. SRIHER offers several facilities for its students. The facilities include separate hostels for boys and girls, well-furnished rooms and spacious classrooms, and full-time internet connectivity. In addition to this, the institute also offers medical and sports facilities to the students. The other facilities provided to the students of the institute include:
- Canteen: A spacious and well-equipped canteen facility is available at the SRIHER Chennai. Here, a complete and planned meal is served in neat, clean and hygienic surroundings. Apart from north and south Indian nutritious breakfast, lunch and dinner, Tea, coffee and soft drinks along with snacks are also available.
- Health Centre: SRIHER provides primary health facilities to students. The students also have access to the hospital, which is also housed on the same campus.
- Library: The library is equipped with a collection of 62627 Medical and Allied Health Sciences textbooks and 5195 Engineering and Technology books classified under ‘Dewey Decimal Classification’, 407 National and International print journals, and 350 online journals which can be accessed anywhere, anytime through remote access.
- Transportation: SRIHER Chennai has a well-established transport department providing extensive transport facilities. The coverage of this transport includes not only in & around Chennai but also extends to the nearby districts of Thiruvallur, Kanchipuram & Vellore and occasionally to faraway places such as Rasipuram, etc.
- Hostel: There are separate hostel facilities for both men and women students, with a total no. of rooms is 3608. Single rooms are available on the campus to accommodate undergraduate and postgraduate students in medical and other disciplines. The campus has continuously running soft water supply and power supply. The avenues of trees and green plants give a resort-like ambience, which is highly conducive to pleasant learning and peaceful living within the campus.
