Design Entrance Exam

NIFT is easily among the most important and difficult entrance exams in the country.

In comparision, SEED is relatively easier and has less competition. You can definitely use NIFT sample papers to prepare for SEED exam as well.

But make sure that you focus on topics that are also included in the SEED exam syllabus. 

By solving sample papers, you can improve problem-solving ability and time-management skills.

To do well in an entrance exam like NIFT, the candidate is expected to have good drawing skills. Note that the NIFT paper will have two sub-exams - CAT and GAT.

The CAT or the Creative Ability Test will evauate the drawing skills of the candidate. 

So, unless you have above average drawing skills, you might struggle. 

To do well in the exam, work on your drawing and visualization skills.

 Approx 99% of students secure placement.The highest income package offered is between INR 11-12 lakhs per annum, with an average package of INR 7 lakhs per annum and a minimum package of around INR 4 lakhs.Students are placed in various textile and design companies, including well-known brands in the sector.

To be eligible for the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program at NIFT, you must have finished your 10+2 education with a recognised board such as CBSE, ISC, or any state board. You must be under 24 years old as of August 1st of the year of admission, with a 5-year age relaxation for SC, ST, and PWD candidates. In addition, you must take and pass the NIFT entrance exam, which is administered by the National Testing Agency.

The cutoff rank for B.Des (Fashion Design) at NIFT Delhi in 2024 was 577 for the OBC category1. Cutoffs for general category students on various schools often range between 450 and 550.

The last date to apply for NIFT admission for the year 2024 is January 3rd, 2024 for online registration with a late fee option available until January 4th, 2024.

Admissions Direct admission is rarely available at the NIFT Kangra. The students are enrolled by the institute based on the performance in the NIFT entrance, which comprises a written exam, group discussions, and personal interviews. However, in some instances, the facility of direct admissions is availed by a few candidates in cases of sports quotas or other exceptional achievements-but this would be rather an exception. You may contact the admissions office to obtain the latest and most accurate information regarding chances of direct admission, particularly in cases of exceptional circumstances.
