Hi,
No, it is not necessary to take computers as a subject. Graphic designing is a separate undergraduate course where you need creativity and visual fashion sense. So take up fine arts as an optional subject so that you brush up this side as well.

You can go for Design, Agriculture, Architecture, Food Technology, Management, Law, Commerce, Economics etc. Universities offering all these courses are Lovely Professional University, JNU, Banaras Hindu University etc. Moreover, if you are looking for scholarship also these universities provides various scholarship schemes. Engineering is a better option because there are enormous fields in engineering. Designing on the other hand is very niche area. Engineering has opportunities from computer to agriculture.

For graphic designing, you must have creativity and good grasp in sketching and drawing. If you want to make career in graphic designing, then you can join any good institute. You should not go with any short courses in any institute. You can go for Bachelors in fine arts.
