A degree is always better as it will fetch you a better job and position. A diploma is okay for those who are already a graduate. I am doubtful if you will get a good job after Diploma (If you are not a graduate).

You can pursue B.FTech (Four Years Duration Course) from NIFT. National Institute of Fashion Technology is a group of fashion colleges in India, by Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Campus Recruitment and placement assistance is good.

But there are many smaller Institutes like Polytechnic etc. Where fee structure is less. Also if you are Graduate already - then you can go for Diploma courses or short term Fashion Courses. They are equally good.

As per the NIFT Prospectus-2019, there is no such barrier of the percentage of marks for class 12th exam for B.Des programs. As per eligibility criteria, NIFT needs class 12th pass only. Hence, there is no need to worry about class 12th marks.
