Do not worry. I can understand your concern and angst. Most optimum is getting admission in a government college. Fees are reasonable and faculty is also good. But you will have to study hard to get a better rank in UPSEE. These days direct entry is only in Tamil Nadu and with some deemed to be universities or management quota seats. Best wishes to you.

Hello Tushar, If you were domiciled in Tamil Nadu, then CET is not required. Admission is based on the marks obtained in class 12th. But, in almost all other states and engineering colleges, CET is the norm. Perhaps, Amity University is one deemed University that accepts high scorer directly.
