360 students can enroll in Madras University Distance Education to pursue a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in a single academic year.

Madras University Distance Education, which was founded in 1981 to assist students in achieving their academic, professional, and personal objectives, offers a highly regarded B.Sc. program. B.Sc. courses are among the many undergraduate and graduate programs offered by the institute. The first year of the B.Sc. programme costs ?10,070 and lasts for three years .The deadline for submitting applications is December 13, 2023, and the admissions process for the 2024 academic year is currently open. (The 10+2 Science passing certificate is the basis for the selection process.)

Through TANCET, the University of Madras Distance Education accepts applications for MBA programs.

 The minimum scores needed for students in each category are taken into account when determining the cutoff for the TANCET MBA course.

The MBA program's general category TANCET qualifying cutoff is 37.5, while the reserved category cutoff ranges from 22.5 to 35.25.
The Institute of Distance Education (IDE) at Madras University provides a range of programs, one of which is the MBA (Master of Business Administration).The following entrance exams are also available to applicants for the MBA programme at Madras University Distance Education:- CAT, GMAT, XAT, MAT, or AMAT. Every one of these tests assesses a candidate's aptitude for management studies and aids the university in deciding whether or not to accept them into the program.

The following national level entrance exam results are accepted by Madras University Distance Education (IDE) for admissions-

IIMs administer the Common Admission Test, or CAT.
AIMA administers the Management Aptitude Test (MAT).
CMAT stands for the AICTE's Common Management Admission Test.
XLRI Jamshedpur's Xavier Aptitude Test, or XAT for short.
AIMS Test for Management Admission, or ATMA.
Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test is known as TANCET.
 Madras University IDE accepts valid GMAT results for MBA admission.

In general, the cutoff percentiles for CAT/XAT, CMAT/ATMA, and MAT exams are approximately 70-80%ile, 65-80%ile, and 55-60%ile, respectively.

Applications for the MBA programme at Madras University Distance Education are accepted from candidates who have taken the relevant national level test and meet the required cut-off.

The following are the minimal  scores usually required to be admitted to Madras University Distance Education (IDE) MBA programs for the 2023 batch:

1. The educational prerequisite is a bachelor's degree in any field with a minimum cumulative GPA of 50% (45% in reserved categories).
2. Minimum 70 percentile for CAT/XAT, 65 percentile for CMAT, 55 percentile for MAT, and 65 percentile for ATMA
3. TANCET- Minimum cutoff announced following the test
4. Work Experience: For the general category, a minimum of two years of work experience is preferred.For reserved categories, one year.New students are welcome to apply as well. Experience is a benefit.
5. No upper age limit; valid scores from national MBA entrance exams, academic records, identification, proof of age, etc.
   Academic performance review, GD, PI, and entrance exam comprise the selection process.

IDE charges between Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000 for the entire B.A. program, while University of Madras charges between Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000 annually.
The total fees for B.Com. IDE are approximately Rs. 18,000, whereas regular university fees range from Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 45,000 annually.
The cost of an M.A. at IDE is Rs 25,000 for two years, while the cost at University of Madras is Rs 45,000.
The two-year MBA fee at IDE is between Rs 30,000 and Rs 40,000. Madras University charges between Rs 1 and 1.5 Lacs annually.
IDE charges about Rs 20,000 for a three-year B.Sc. program, whereas University of Madras charges Rs 40k -50k annually.

The following are the main criteria for admission -

1. A valid score on entrance exams such as the TANCET, CAT, MAT, CMAT, XAT, or ATMA is necessary.
2. The candidate needs to have graduated from an accredited university with a bachelor's degree in any field after at least three years of study.
3.  For candidates in general categories and reserved categories (such as SC/ST), the minimum cumulative marks needed for a bachelor's degree are 50% and 45%, respectively.
4. To be considered for admission to the MBA program, candidates must have at least two years of full-time work experience. New hires are welcome to apply as well.
5. Age Restrictions: The maximum age limit for MBA admission is 60 years old, but there is no minimum age requirement.
   Candidates must submit documents such as a TC, copies of their academic transcripts, identification proof, and photos.
