No, PGCET is not compulsory for M.Sc. This exam is a must for admission to full time or part time MBA, MCA MArch, M.Tech, ME and for 2nd year (lateral entry) of MCA programme. For a better answer, please specify if you have some aspired colleges with you.

Evening/distance/online/part time engineering courses are not valid any more as per the latest supreme court verdict, hence would recommend you to join regular B.Tech course for better career prospects.
