Yes, you can give one more attempt if your goal is top notch institutes. Gap years is to be considered because when it comes to placements we have to justify the gap.

The basic eligibility criterion for pursuing B.A. (Hons.) (Economics) degree is qualifying 10+2 or equivalent examination in any stream from a recognized board of the country.
Some universities give preference to the students having economics in class 12 but Ranchi University is not one of them.

The CET syllabus consists of General English, Economics and Maths. For English section, you do not need more than a general understanding of grammar and basic sentence formation. As for Eco.
