The GATE Syllabus for Electrical Engineering will boost preparation and give an idea of the topics and concepts covered in Electrical Engineering (EE). The GATE Syllabus for Electrical Engineering 2024 is divided into ten main sections. The main topics included in the syllabus are Electric circuits, Engineering Mathematics, Electromagnetic Fields, Signals and Systems, Electrical Machines, Power Systems, Control Systems, Electrical and Electronic Measurements, Analog and Digital Electronics and Power Electronics. Section-wise Electrical Engineering Syllabus
Section 1: Engineering Mathematics
Linear Algebra, Calculus, Differential Equations, Complex Variables, Probability and Statistics.
Section 2: Electric Circuits
Network Elements consists of ideal votlage and current sources, dependent sources, Network theorems, etc.
Section 3: Electromagnetic Fields
Columb's Law, Electric Field Intensity, Electric Flux Density, Gauss's Law, Divergence, Electric Field and Potential due to point, line, plane, etc.
Section 4: Signals and Systems
Representation of continuous and discrete time signals, shifting and scaling properties, linear time invariant and causal systems, etc.
Section 5: Electrical Machines
Single phase transformer: equivalent circuit, phasor diagram, open circuit and short circuit tests, regulation and efficiency; Three-phase transformers: connections, vector groups, parallel operation; Auto-transformer, etc.
Section 6: Power Systems
Basic concepts of electrical power generation, ac and dc transmission concepts, Models and performance of transmission lines and cables, Economic Load Dispatch (with and without considering transmission losses), Series and shunt compensation, etc.
Section 7: Control Systems
Mathematical modelling and representation of systems, Feedback principle, transfer function, Block diagrams and Signal flow graphs, etc.
Section 8: Electrical and Electronic Measurements
Bridges and Potentiometers, Measurement of voltage, current, power, energy and power factor, etc.
Section 9: Analog and Digital Electronics
Simple diode circuits: clipping, clamping, rectifiers; Amplifiers: biasing, equivalent circuit and frequency response; oscillators and feedback amplifiers, etc.
Section 10: Power Electronics
Static V-I characteristics and firing/gating circuits for Thyristor, MOSFET, IGBT; DC to DC conversion: Buck, Boost and Buck-Boost Converters; Single and three-phase configuration of uncontrolled rectifiers, etc.

The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) has a two-stage process exam.
1- Written Exam: GATE/ BARC online exam.
2- Interview. Preparation strategy for Written exam: No special strategy just try to prepare for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering Exam, thoroughly. If you do well in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre will become one of the options among many, GATE scores are going to offer you. If you don't perform well in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, then you have to prepare for the online exam. For this just solve Engineering Services Examination (ESE's) previous questions, from the GATE syllabus. Practice and try to answer each question in Less than a minute because you have only 3 hours to solve 100 questions. Preparation strategy for the Interview:
For the Interview, you just need to study five subjects of your Choice. Make sure Power systems are present and Machines. Try to prepare each subject from a standard textbook. Also, focus on the basics concept and analysis part. For the Interview, the numerical part is not needed. Power Systems by CL Wadhwa. Machines by Nagrath and Kothari
