WBJEE is held offline as a pen and paper based test. Students have to report to centre and attempt exam in an OMR sheet. Out of the given options for each question, student will have to mark correct one with their pen and submit it.

For WBJEE admissions, there is an age limit. Students have to be minimum 17 years old during the admission year. There is no upper age limit. However, for Marine Engineering course, there is an upper age limit of 25 years.

Jadavpur University accepts WBJEE scores for admissions into the BTech courses. However, the 12^th standard qualifying exam eligibility criteria is minimum 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (45% for reserved category). Students with valid JEE Main scores can apply for admissions through WBJEE counselling. However, these students will be eligible for allotment only in 10% approved seats offered by self financing colleges and institutes participating in state level counselling.
