Engineering Entrance Exam

Without WBJEE, admission to MCKV Institute of Engineering's B.E./B.Tech programme can be obtained through the management quota or JEE Main scores. For 10% of seats, candidates must have a valid JEE Main score and a 10+2 grade of 45% in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology and Computer Science (40% for reserved categories). As an alternative the management quota (10% of seats) permits direct admission based on eligibility; however it is subject to higher costs and availability and requires applications to be submitted via the college's website or office. Candidates with JELET scores who hold a Diploma or a B.Sc. can also apply via lateral entry.

In context of JEE Advanced, DS certificate is a document for candidates in the Defense Service (DS) category who qualify for reserved seats in Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and other participating institutes.

Not all defence service personnel's children are eligible for DS category seats. Two DS category seats are earmarked for preferential allotment in each Institute for children of defence/paramilitary personnel killed or permanently disabled in action during war or peacetime operations. To avail this preferential allotment, a DS candidate must be in the Common Rank List of JEE (Advanced) 2025. A certificate issued by respective record offices of Armed Forces Personnel is required to be eligible for belonging to DS category.
