Eligibility criteria for admission to B.E./B.Tech in Tamilnadu College of Engineering are: 10+2 with 50% aggregate (45% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) and having Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/Technical Vocational as compulsory subjects. Candidates have to appear for counselling in TNEA, which is the short form for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions. Cut-off marks for admission are: General category-145-197; BC category - 133-190; MBC category - 120-175; SC/ST category - 90-155. Lateral entry scope: 50% aggregate in Diploma in any branch for general categories and 45% for other categories. Reservation: 69% for Tamil Nadu students and 31% for other states. Seats 1200 (B.E./B.Tech). Duration: 4 years (8 semesters). Intake through TNEA counselling 90%, Management quota 10%.

Admission B.E. / B.Tech Admission in D.K.T.E. Society's Textile and Engineering Institute through MHT CET for 80% of seats and JEE Main for 20% of seats. For any particular course, the candidate must have scored at least 50% aggregate at 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects. The applicant needs to get registered with MHT CET/JEE Main; then fill up the institute application form with Rs 500; and verification documents; and then prepare the merit list, counselling, and seat allotment. All the key dates are May/June for MHT CET, January to April for JEE Main, institute application within June/July, and counselling between July/August. 

D.K.T.E. Society's Textile and Engineering Institute, Ichalkaranji, Maharashtra D.K.T.E. Society's Textile and Engineering Institute, located in the city of Ichalkaranji, is one of the premier colleges of the country. The institute, established in 1982, currently offers eight undergraduate and ten postgraduate courses. Some of the features of the institutes are: a 95 per cent placement rate, 350+ recruiters and over 15,000 alumni. Accredited by the NBA and has a grade 'A' by NAAC. Ranking Summary Institute ranks between 151-200 (NIRF 2022) and 63rd Times Engineering Survey 2022. Built-up area: 2.5 Lacs square feet across a 35-acre campus. The library houses over 50,000 books and more than 50 labs at the institute. Research focus: over 200 research papers, patents filed over 50. Student-to-faculty ratio: 15:1. 

The dates of JEE Main results are generally in February for Session 1 and May for Session 2. Pondicherry Engineering College does accept scores from JEE Main for admission. Cut-off ranks in PEC as follows: General (15,000-25,000), OBC (20,000-30,000), SC (40,000-50,000), ST (50,000-60,000). Counselling would typically start with registration in June, seat allocation in July, and admission confirmation in August. Closing ranks in PEC: Computer Science: 18,000-22,000; Electrical: 25,000-30,000; and Mechanical: 20,000-25,000. The results of JEE Main Session 1 will be declared by 6th February and Session 2 by 18 May. The ranks will vary year to year and also category-wise.

During my years at Pondicherry Engineering College, the selection procedure comprised online registration on the PEC website, which charges an application fee of INR 500-1,000. The application form is properly filled with the requirements and submitted. Requirements Upload 10th and 12th marks sheets, JEE Main/ GATE admit card, and Transfer Certificate. The Eligible candidate participates in CENTAC counseling for B.E./B.Tech and GATE-based counselling for M.E./M.Tech. PhD candidates clear the entrance test and interview for selection. They have multiple access routes through which the aspirants can get into Pondicherry Engineering College. For the B.E./B.Tech course, 45% of the seats are available based on the scores obtained in JEE Main through the counselling of CENTAC. Of the total 25% is through the management quota 15% through the all-India quota, and 5% through the NRI quota with lateral entry for the Diploma holders. Entrance to the M.E./M.Tech programme is by 50% GATE scores while 50% is done through management quota.
