When selecting reference book candidates must select latest edition. If many books are available on a subject, compare authors, editions, and table of contents. Candidates must read online reviews.

Candidates can manage time in examination by practising question papers before appearing in exam. It will help in knowing which section is taking more time, and then work on that part to save time. They must make sure that they solve many questions from each topic to increase speed of solving.

Candidates must be familiar with syllabus, make notes of all topics, regular revision, practising previous years' question papers and appear in mock tests. Set small goals. Time management is important in IPU CET preparation. Practice solving problems in a time-bound manner and develop a strategy to attempt the exam.

The CUSAT CAT passing marks for the BTech exam is 10 marks in maths and 10 marks in physics and chemistry combined. However, Kerala SC and ST candidates do not have a minimum passing mark.

The authority has announced the course-wise CUSAT CAT 2026 exam date on the website, admissions.cusat.ac.in. The exam will be conducted between May 9 and 11, 2026. The B.Tech admission test will be held on May 10.

As per the CUSAT CAT marking scheme, candidates will get 3 marks for every correct answer while 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect response.

The total duration of CUSAT CAT exam is 3 hours. There is also a subject-wise time limit. The Physics section will be conducted in the first 60 minutes, the Chemistry section will be held in the next 45 minutes and finally the mathematics section for 75 minutes.

As per the CUSAT CAT exam pattern there will be 225 MCQs. The mathematics section will have 90 questions, physics will have 75 questions, while chemistry will have 60 questions. The exam duration is 3 hr and the maximum mark is 675.
