The admission process generally starts after GATE results are out. The GATE results are generally announced in March. All applicants have to register on official university website. The university allocates seats on the basis of merit score in entrance exam. Moreover, students can also appear for Q-CARE exam for scholarship. It is conducted online by the university.

The GATE exam is conducted in the month of February. Registrations can be done on respective website. The application forms are generally out in last week of August. The application fee is INR 1,000 (female/SC/ST/PWD) and INR 2,000 (Male/General/OBC/EWS). Students have to register separately on university website as well for admission in MTech. The registration fee is INR 1,200. 

The total fee is different for state domicile and other students. First year fee for Uttarakhand students ranges for INR 88,000 to INR 1.1 lakh. For other state students, fee ranges from INR 93,000 to INR 1.15 lakh.  Fee can be paid semester wise via Demand draft or NEFT/RTGS. Additionally, other charges like transportation, hostel, uniform charges, etc. are also applicable.

The eligibility for applying is Graduation in relevant discipline. Students who have done BTech/MCA/MSc are eligible to apply. However, the minimum aggregate is not mentioned by the university on its official website. Admissions are completely entrance-based. Accepted exam is GATE. Moreover, the university offers various scholarships on the basis of Q-CARE exam. 

Yes, the institute offers a PG degree in MTech. The total duration of course is two-years. The admissions are based on GATE scores. Students can also appear for Q-CARE scholarship exam conducted by the university. The university offers more than 33 seats in different courses. However, the exact seat bifurcation is not available as per official university website.

The institute offers total six specialisations in MTech. Some of them are Thermal Engineering, AI & Data Science, Digital Communication, etc. The admissions are based on GATE scores.
