No, IIT Dhanbad BTech admission is strictly entrance based. Admission to IIT Dhanbad BTech is allotted on the basis of candidates' performance in JEE Main exam, candidates who qualify IIT Dhabad JEE Main cutoff are then required to appear for JEE Advance followed by the counselling round conducted by JoSAA. The cut off for JET B.Tech is released rank wise and the result can be accessed by the official sites. The cut off varies from course to course because of the seats available and the applicants for the course received.

To apply in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Jain Deemed -to -be University the selected students are called for the counseling session . Since the CUET score is accepted only for B.Sc and BCA these counseling sessions are given on merit bases and these . After attending the counseling session the student has to pay confirmation fees. This ensures the locking of seat as a provisional and tentative addmission. After shortlisting of candidates the seat is the confirmed.
